Here are some in progress images of some of the paintings I have done. Each piece takes about 80-100 hours to complete with about 95% of the painting being rendered with an airbrush and about 5% done with a brush. I take around 100 pictures of each car before I decide on which view I want to paint.
{Photos coming soon!}
I try and incorporate as much of our beautiful Southern Alberta sky in each painting as I can. The prevailing Chinook winds (an Indian word that means “snow eater”) create a huge arch of cloud just to the west of us and it makes for some awesome sunsets.
Even though I am painting a manmade object I try to key in all the beauty that nature provides us in the backgrounds and in the reflections of the cars themselves. Maybe I’m really a sunset painter and the clouds just take on the shapes of cars. Whatever it is I like it- and I hope you do to.
